Snow emote by dazza1008 Snow emote by dazza1008
With a memory like a goldfish! 8D

My first emote! :boogie:

For =Emoticiety's "snow and/or presents" December competition. ^^

( submitted to :iconemoticiety: )

Umm... considering this is pixel art... with the 'clouds' in the background, the slight texture on the trunk and leaves - I did use the ' pencil ' tool (which doesn't shade) - I just selected slightly different colours. Hope that's still OK. ^^;

Thanks to =CookiemagiK for getting me interested in emoticons. :aww:

EDIT: Anyone using Firefox - please download because, at least on my computer, it skips frames. :doh:

You can have it all! Its been snowing for three days straight... We went from 60-degree weather where everything melted, and now we have nearly two feet on the ground again. ><

:iconinloveplz: We never get snow! >.<

(and we usually measure in Celsius, not Farenheit o.O )

All I can say is that we've been getting weather that's as hot as normal body temperature. :(

Hehe, yeah, should have said Fahrenheit... ^^;

Eww... Hot weather is nasty. I'd rather be cold than hot. When I moved away, it was so weird to go through a really, really hot summer and a mild winter. It snowed once the entire winter, a measly two inches, and everything closed. It was like the entire city shut down. Up here... We have to get like, two feet of snow plus drifting from the wind to have anyone consider closing anything. ><

Michigan. The one shaped like a mitten. Fitting, in a way, haha. I live about 20 minutes from Lake Michigan, so, we get all sorts of lake effect from that, especially when things blow over from Wisconsin.

Heh heh... thank youuuuuuuuu!!! :glomp: It was a good thing that the emote body itself didn't move/change shape. :hug:

:noes: It was 49 frames and 41 layers. :nod: Made with ImageReady (that came with photoshop 7 which you have - because I bought the student version of CS3 recently, and to my surprise, they don't include imageready anymore! And Fireworks didn't come in the package! :iconpinkohnoesplz: EPICFAIL) When I googled it, you should have seen the angry topics. XD

@A@ Ahh yeah, animation becomes like....10000000000x more complicated when the body moves ;-;

Wow, not bad! I tend to be a frame whore XD
Heh, its cool to know that we use the same program >w<
I am surprised that newer versions of PS wouldn't inclue that! But ya know...I have noticed that almost EVERY version of PS that I use is very similar...I don't see why they bother to make more if it is going to be basically the same thing...
Then again, I'm no PS expert XD

XD I bet the PS obessers were wetting their panties!

Actually, CS3 is the first one which DIDN'T have imageready - cs2 had it. :shrug: Hence the outrage. XD

I know! The icons seem more and more 3D each time, though.

But apparently Flash CS4 has some new innovations. (like bones - which allow more human animation, I think :confused: )

But cs3 has this annoying thing which asks if I want to maximise compatibility when I want to save the PDF file. :shrug: I guess it's the impression that it's more advanced, if nothing else. :XD:

D: It seems werid that the new PS would downgrade :noes:
But somehow I am not surprised ;-;

Bones? Cool! 8D Although I don't think could get used to that....or flash XD *I fail at flash*

XD I guess that program has to hold on to SOME feeling of advancedness :giggle:

I couldn't understand it XD
Or rather...I was too lazy to figure out the whole timeline thing :lmao:

This makes me want to poke a tree! :aww: Or at least give one a big hug (yes, I'm a tree hugger... XD) But I'd have to do it when the park rangers aren't looking. :ninja: And I'd have to fly back to the Northwest because Florida sucks and it is almost 80 degrees here (almost 27 degrees Celsius). :|

Maybe my screen is kind of bright because I have to tilt the screen on my laptop up and down to see the clouds and texture on the tree, but it's a beautiful animation nonetheless (the snow coming down is really convincing!) You even added the reflection of the snow to the emote's underside! :love:

:D Yay! :hug:
:police: "What are you doing to that tree?"
:noes: "I was just hugging it!" :iconawwwplz:

We don't get snow here either! :noes: 27's pretty hot... but I thought it was hotter in Florida, being closer to the equator. :confused:

Thank you - the textures were very subtle. So subtle, you can't see it! 8D :giggle: I think I do have a darker monitor than most - it's LCD, like yours, though.
And the reflection on the underside was pretty much an accident - I did deliberately colour it there for some chiarascuro :p (as I've seen others do) but the whitish colour wasn't intentional - but it does fit! :D

I thought Australia was closer to the equator? :? I live in Northeastern Florida, which seems to have a different climate than "typical" Southern Florida. XD

(I live in the city that Bella from Twilight almost had to follow her mom to, Jacksonville. Everyone laughed in the school theater during a screening of Twilight when the mom said that Jacksonville is always sunny. That movie actually became pretty funny with all the college students laughing at it and burping during the "romantic" scenes... off topic again ^^; )

You were taking into account it was winter when it was 27 degrees, right? (since we live in different hemispheres...)

Now it's summer and it's over 32 degrees (and our air conditioning broke :noes:) :faint:

Well, it's a rather tall country - Queensland is tropical, but Victoria has snow. x3

Ahaha! :D Love the personal touches to the Twilight screening :p

Winter at 27 degrees? :o Not for us - can be anywhere between 10 and 25 for a typical winter.

Aaagh! Get in the bath! :noes:

So kind of like America's different zones, just going in the opposite directions? :D

It was soooo funny during the dinner scene and someone belched super loud and EVERYONE laughed. At first I thought people were going to be fangirly because I saw a lot of college girls that looked like that type... but it seemed everyone had fun mocking it, so it turned out to be one of the comedies of the year for me. :XD:

(Normally belching out loud is a pet peeve for me, but somehow it didn't bother me as a sound effect for the movie... =3 )

Last winter it was over 27 degrees, that's why I was complaining about it being hot. XD (But it was weird, because the weeks before that had a biting wind O_o )

I did, but I just sweated a ton as soon as I got out. ;_; I checked the temperature again in the afternoon and it was 34 but felt like 38. I couldn't even eat lunch~ ;__; It's cooled down to 32 degrees in the house (it's night right now), but it's still uncomfortable. ;___; Hopefully the repairman will give us some more temporary freon tomorrow until the part to repair the freon leak comes in. >_>

Wow - I believe that 37 degrees is normal body temperature!!! XDDD Make sure you don't get a chill from the sweat. And remember - people pay good money for saunas! ;) :D

Aak, I made the stupid United States mistake of considering the United States as "America"! :noes: orz

It actually makes me want to see the next movie if they show it at school! :D (my roommate would probably have cried if she went with me... she really loves Twilight and played the movie at least twenty times in our room when it came out on DVD... I was starting to get a little irritated and feeling murderlust at Edward XD )

I told my mom that! But then after several hours, saunas aren't very cool anymore. XD (But it seemed to loosen my bowels! :poo: :thumbsup: :D)
