My reason for making this stamp is because I've had enough of people making generalisations when it comes to veganism.

For example -
"If you're vegan, you should take supplements" or
"I had to go back to eating meat because I do a lot of exercise"

:iconchallengeacceptedplz: Challenge accepted.

Now I don't have a problem with people eating meat per se because I believe everyone should have the space to make their own decisions, but I find these kinds of hearsay generalisations irritating.

I'm vegan, I don't take supplements (EDIT: I guess I do have some fortified foods now that I think about it EDIT2: and I am looking into vegetable EPA and DHA supplements, as well as B12 supplements.... even though I think EVERYONE should look into taking supplements if they want to since the quality of food in general is declining due to overfarming), and my weekly routine exercise is
Monday morning - fitbox gym class with an ex-marine (and he does so many reps that even the muscly fit guys can't do everything) 1hr 15mins
Tuesday morning - bodyfirm gym class (light weights) 1hr
Wednesday morning - fitbox gym class with an ex-marine (involves some kind of glove boxing on this day) 1hr 15mins
Wednesday evening - karate 1hr 30mins
Thursday evening - karate 1hr 30mins
Friday evening - karate 2hrs
Saturday morning - karate 1hr 30mins

None of these classes are a walk in the park. They're quite intensive. If anyone started doing this routine without being used to high levels of exercise, they'd be wrecked (as I was when I first started a few years ago, and that was just from a couple of classes a week =p )

I'm doing all of the above on a vegan diet (I've been vegan for three months) and before that, I was vegetarian (for about 10 years, and I avoided eggs). BTW I don't have issues with people taking supplements- by all means take them if you need to - but be scientific about it and get a blood test first, and then make an informed decision about whether it's beneficial for you.

I have energy. (I'd say the meditation technique that gets one to a deep level of rest contributes to this, but you can't disregard diet).

I had a blood test recently to check how I was doing and everything was mid-range normal levels e.g. iron B12 haemoglobin (and I hadn't been taking care of myself too well, because I don't have time - I'm out so much. Sometimes I have to have a lot of packet food.) Doctor said there was no issues with me donating blood with those results, so I'll do that soon.

Case closed.

is that because of luck, or are you actively avoiding certain foods?

If so, would you please list the foods you're avoiding.

I'm healthy because I eat healthy foods and stay active.

I don't avoid anything.

Im going to go vegan, its nice you dont have to take supplements to still be healthy.

Have you lost weight since becoming vegan?

Actually, I do take supplements, just irregularly. BUT tbh I don't see it as an exclusively vegan thing - I think food in general is so overproduced that vitamins aren't as available in the food anymore.

Someone takes Vegetable EPA and DHA supplements (which are the longer chains of omega 3), as well as B12 supplements.

And take blood tests. :) Go by how you feel, and get to know your body. If you crave something, maybe you need it.

I have lost weight, but honestly I think that it's more because I don't have snacks from shops (since they'd probably have milk) and because I've started cycling to work and back. :) (it's not particularly a vegan thing) If you want to lose weight, incorporate some exercise and have freshly-prepared salads and pureed foods like soups. :) (at least, it doesn't have to be the whole meal, but they're satisfying and it's basically more vitamins)

All the best! :)
